Paying for traffic without getting burned
Published by the operator of BidToViral, which sells advertising placement. This is a practical buying checklist based on how our product works, not an independent market study or a promise of advertising results.
Why pay for traffic at all
A paid placement can help you test whether an audience responds to your product or profile. Define the outcome you care about before you spend: visits, signups, purchases or awareness. A click does not prove that someone is a qualified customer, and a visible placement does not guarantee anyone will click.
The three questions that matter
First: where will your promotion appear? Ask for the actual website, newsletter, profile or placement and how its audience arrives. An unclear source makes quality harder to assess. Even a visible placement can receive automated traffic, so ask about filtering.
Second: how will you check results? Ask what the seller counts and which dates the report covers. Where supported, use campaign-tagged links and your own analytics as another source. Differences can come from consent settings, bot filters and counting rules; investigate them rather than assuming either number is complete.
Third: what does the price cover, and for how long? Check renewal terms, publication windows and whether later purchases add to an existing balance. In BidToViral, rank bids add to cumulative stake; cosmetics and scheduled placements do not. Our pricing guide distinguishes permanent visual upgrades from time-limited exposure.
Questions to resolve before purchasing
If a seller promises a fixed number of visitors, ask how delivery is verified and what happens if the promise is missed. A low price alone does not prove fraud. Unexplained traffic sources, undisclosed redirects and missing refund terms are reasons to seek clarification before you commit a budget.
What honest measurement looks like
Recorded outbound clicks use daily deduplication and bot filtering. They do not verify unique people or completed destination visits. Buyers and listing owners see the same figures. The mechanism and its limits are documented in how clicks are counted. Compare counting methods and their limitations, including ours.
When something else is the better buy
If you need targeting or a delivery commitment, compare providers that explicitly offer it. If you want a particular creator to publish a post, discuss a sponsorship with that creator. BidToViral offers placement inside its own city and public outbound-click counts, not purchased followers or guaranteed reach. See how BidToViral compares.
Before any money moves
Read the payment and refund terms before buying. Being outbid is not a refund reason, and mandatory consumer protections still apply. Check the moderation policy and whether the surrounding content suits your brand. Here is what we refuse. If anything is unclear, ask before purchase. Our contact details are on about.
